Guyana is is an undiscovered gem for the natural history buff and adventure traveler. Dadanawa Ranch is the place to visit to search for Harpy Eagles. Excellent birdwatching, exploring Amerindian villages and petroglyphs, and horseback riding are all popular in this southern savannah region.

The Iwokrama Centre is responsible for the conservation and management of the 360,00 hectare Iwokrama forest.  It is located in the heart of Guyana, and offers private guest lodging. Considered one of the best sites on earth to see a jaguar in the wild, you can also hike to Turtle Mountain , look for Amerindian petroglyphs and observe the centre's projects for developing sustainable uses for tropical rain forest ecosystems.
