Itinerary
Day 1: Travel to Guatemala City. On arrival you are met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2: Tikal Overnight. Early in the morning you will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to the airport to board the flight that will take you to Flores. Once there you will be taken to Tikal, where you will start your sightseeing of the ruins and have a picnic lunch. Overnight accommodations in Tikal or Flores. (B)
Day 3: Today you will finish your tour of the ruins of Tikal, and visit to the museum nearby. In the afternoon you will be transferred back to the airport in Flores for your return flights to Guatemala City, and transfer back to your hotel. (B)
Day 4: In the morning, leave for Chichicastenango. On arrival visit the colorful open-air market and the Church of Santo Tomas. The afternoon is at leisure for further shopping or to see the town on your own. (B)
Day 5: After breakfast, depart for Solola, where you will visit the Indian market. In the afternoon, continue to Lake Atitlan, where you will spend the night. (B)
Day 6: Around 9:00 AM you will join the launch excursion to the lakeside village of Santiago Atitlan. Continue to Antigua for overnight accommodations. (B)
Day 7: Visit the most interesting sites: churches, convents, monasteries and other colonial buildings. After lunch, return to your Guatemala City hotel. (B)
Day 8: You will be transferred to the international airport for your departure flights. (B)

Option to include Ceibal with the Tikal tour—add $35 per person
Day 2: Early in the morning you will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to the airport to board the flight that will take you to Flores. Once there, you will be picked up and be taken to Ceibal, where you will visit the archaeological site. Transportation to Ceibal is via overland transfer and motorized launch. Overnight accommodations in either Flores or Tikal area. (B)
Day 3: Today you will be taken to Tikal and be given a sightseeing tour of the ruins. You will also visit the museum of Tikal. After lunch, you’ll be transferred back to Flores to board the flight that will take you back to Guatemala City, and transfer to your hotel. (B)
*Note: Due to special hotel restrictions over the Christmas, New Year and Easter Holiday season, we are unable to operate these group itineraries. This applies to dates during Holy week (April 4-12, 2009) and New Year’s (December 24, 2009 to January 02, 2010) where hotels in Antigua, Peten Area, Lake Atitlan, Puerto Barrios and Rio Dulce area have a 100% increase and a minimum stay of four nights.Customized itineraries are possible if your travel plans can accommodate these restrictions, but note that hotel costs must be pre-paid at time of reservation, and are normally non-refundable.
Trip Notes:
- Latin American Escapes, Inc. offers special contract airline rates to Latin America from most cities in the US, as well as special airpass rates for tickets with-in Latin America. Please ask for a quote based on your trip itinerary.
- This trip begins and ends in Guatemala City, which can be reached on a daily basis by a variety of airlines. Easy extensions to other Central American countries are also available.
- Trip costs includes the flights Guatemala City-Flores-Guatemala City
- Breakfasts are included daily. Stops are made for lunch, where each passenger can select the meal of their choice. Dinners can be enjoyed at your own hotel, or in nearby restaurants.

A deposit of $300 per person is required to confirm reservations. In addition, the following payment procedures apply:

Payment for airline tickets is due at the time tickets are issued, but no later than time of final payment.
Last Minute Bookings: Last minute reservations (less than 30 days before departure) will be accepted, subject to availability, if payment has been received, and documents can be delivered. Any special communication costs and delivery charges will be at the client's expense.
Revision Fee: Revision fees will apply once the initial deposit has been received. Charges will vary based on itinerary, and extent of changes, with a minimum charge of $50. Changes requested after documents have been issued (generally with-in 30 days) will incur a minimum $100 change fee, plus additional services requested.
International bookings: We gladly accept bookings from passengers outside the US. However, an additional surcharge of $50 per booking is applied to cover additional shipping charges.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS--At the time we receive written notification that you must cancel your trip, money will be returned less the following cancellation fees:

Trip Documents: Trip documents will be forwarded approximately 3 weeks prior to travel, and once all payments and completed application forms have been received.
Risk and Responsibility
In arranging these trips, Latin American Escapes, Inc. acts only as the agents for the owners, contractors and suppliers actually providing tour services for these trips with whom Latin American Escapes, Inc. has no legal connection or joint ownership. These local tour operators attempt to conduct these trips as described in the preceding itineraries. However, it is possible that due to transportation schedule changes, weather, delays and unforeseeable acts of God, humans or nature, itineraries may vary from what is described. Participants are responsible for extra costs due to travel delay or itinerary changes for reasons beyond our control and assume all risks, whether identified in advance or unforeseen, as described under Limitation of Liability, and Trip Member Responsibility, located in our Terms and Conditions, which all travelers agree to sign.
