We are getting ready for our guests !!
There is a lot of excitement in the air at the
Mariah Camp! Next week we
start putting up the large, deluxe tent-cabins, getting the propane tanks full
for our hot-water showers and our large kitchen, stocking our walk-in store,
trimming trees and bushes, and hauling out the equipment from our secure sheds
where they lived during the cold winter months.
The guides are starting to make
their plans for transitioning from the ski slopes and foreign countries to
arrive here in Coloma, one of the major rafting communities in the U.S. See you
soon!!
Chill Out & Thrill Out!! Step up to the
major challenge of the North Fork American River, a Class IV technical
extravaganza perfect for the ultimate springtime and early summer adventure.
The North Fork's spring flow is created by the melting snow pack of the
Desolation Wilderness Area of the Sierras; thus, this river flows its best
during April and early May, depending on the snow pack. Give our office a call
for more details. This year it looks like we'll be on the river from April
through mid-May. Check out our
exciting video.
New! New! New! This will be our second year offering
these enchanting overnight trips on the Middle Fork, starting Memorial Day
Weekend through the end of August. You can find beautiful, remote, lush river
canyons right here in California. Let your guides do all the camp cooking while
you enjoy the beach, the stars, and even take a turn on one of the inflatable
kayaks we take along with us. There is even a waterfall to hike up to and
enjoy. This river has the famous Tunnel Chute Rapid.

our special flyer and our exciting video.
Famous, local, gold panner, Rodney Earl Brand will
charm and fascinate both kids and adults during many Thursday evening gold
panning demonstrations. He dresses the part and has many tales of those men and
women who flocked to the Sierras to try their luck in the gold fields. Rodney
brings his gold panning gear in for many of our special Thursday-Friday rafting
trips on the South Fork American River. You'll be able to try your luck on
Thursday evening, after a full day on the river.
We were
surprised that the adults seemed to enjoy themselves just as much as the kids
did. AND, everyone gets to find at least one small flake of gold.

We still have a few spaces available. Become a river
guide and earn a income this summer, build your self-confidence, or just have
fun on the rio for eight days. This eight-day course is full of excitement, new
experiences, opportunities to learn many new skills such as reading whitewater,
knot tying, Oh-Yes, and wilderness cooking. You learn to make independent
decisions and also to work as a team.
This is a
wonderful opportunity to become more attuned to yourself in a wilderness
environment. If you are lucky, it will rain and snow; thus you will have
wonderful stories to tell and memories to share. |
