Snow, Snow, Snow!!
As we are looking out of our Coloma Office the rain is
pounding down! Weather.com is calling for snow in Lotus tomorrow! Can you
believe it?!! It doesn't snow at this elevation (750') very often. The picture
to the left is at Royal Gorge, Soda Springs, CA., taken two weeks ago.
Even though California's precipitation is still below that of 2008 at this same
time, predictions are for a series of strong storms to come rolling out of the
Pacific.
Because
of a new agreement from the water agencies on the American River, we are
guaranteed good flows on the South Fork American throughout the summer, so we
are excited about this summer's rafting!! Check out this Spring River Trip on
the North
Fork American River Rafting.
Working as a professional river guide is an
exciting, and growing experience for any young man and woman. In addition to
being able to share your love for the outdoors with hundreds of different folks
from all over the world, you also have fantastic opportunities to be a part of
a team, learn leadership skills, and help guide your guests as they experience
opportunities to develop their own self-confidence and skill level in an
outdoor environment. And, you get to become an expert on the river! Please join
us for our 8-day intensive guide school. You don't have to want to become a
guide; you can just have fun for 8 days, and perhaps end up buying your own
boat!

On every Thursday-Friday from the last week on June
through August, families gather at Mariah's beautiful riverside campground for
two days of rafting, camping, meals and entertainment by local storytellers.
Join other families for wet and wild fun, evening campfire, excellent food, and
peaceful outdoor camping. Make new friends, have fun with your family!
We are continuing to offer our annual Music and Rafting
weekends because they are so popular! Get wet and wild during the days. During
hors d'hoeuvres and a special wine-tasting, enjoy local musicians. We offer
Bluegrass, soft guitar, and an eclectic mix of jazz, rock, and folk music. Come
up to Gold Rush Country and enjoy the 3rd Annual Coloma Blues Live Festival
which is held here in Coloma on Saturday June 6. Then raft with us on the
Middle Fork American River on Sunday June 7. Call us for details.
